Cameras

Astronomy cameras from Player One and ToupTek, for deep-sky, planetary, solar and lunar imaging, and for guiding. Each camera page lists its full specifications, what comes in the box and the adapters it needs.

Which type of camera

  • Cooled cameras take long exposures of galaxies and nebulae. Cooling keeps the sensor quiet over minutes at a time.
  • Planetary cameras record fast video of the planets, the Moon and the Sun, for lucky imaging.
  • Solar cameras have global shutters and larger pixels, for the Sun and Moon through a solar telescope or filter.
  • Guide cameras are small and light, and keep your mount on target during long exposures.

Comparing cameras

Many cameras share the same sensor. Shop by sensor shows every version of a sensor side by side, and Compare cameras puts up to four next to each other. Our guides explain what the specifications mean and what sensor sizes like 1-inch and APS-C really measure.

We’ll help you choose
