Overview
The Player One Uranus-M Pro is a cooled mono astronomy camera built around Sony’s IMX585 sensor. It takes the same sensor as the Uranus-M and adds two-stage cooling, so it suits long exposures on small deep-sky targets as well as planetary work.
Cooling holds the sensor 35–40 °C below the air temperature at a set point you choose, so one set of dark frames can be reused across nights. Dark frames show no amp glow.
The 2.9 µm pixels suit shorter focal lengths for deep-sky work. On an 800 mm telescope the camera samples at 0.75″ per pixel and covers about 48 × 27 arcminutes, enough for most galaxies and planetary nebulae. Read noise drops to 0.7 e⁻ at high gain, which helps with short sub-exposures and narrowband filters.
The carbon fibre body weighs 420 g. A heater in front of the sensor keeps dew off the window, at a power you set. Sensor tilt is adjusted with a front three-point plate, and a rear four-point plate is available. A 512 MB buffer stops dropped frames on slower laptops.
The cooler runs from 12 V. The power supply is not included: Player One recommends one rated at 5 A or more.
