ToupTek Infrared Galaxy Set (LP825 Filter and CS Lens)

The ToupTek Infrared Galaxy Set is an 825 nm infrared pass filter and a small wide-angle CS-mount lens. Fitted to a ToupTek G3M, GPM or G3CMOS camera, it photographs the Milky Way without a telescope, even from places where the sky is too bright for normal wide-field shots.

The filter blocks visible light below 825 nm, which is where most streetlight glow sits, and passes the near infrared. Images come out monochrome, since the colour is in the visible light the filter removes.

Fitting

The filter comes already fitted in an adapter that takes the place of the camera’s front window. Unscrew the camera’s front window adapter and CS lens adapter, screw on the filter adapter, refit the CS lens adapter, then screw in the lens.
