Overview
The ToupTek ATR M42 Tilter is a tilt adjuster for ATR cooled cameras. It replaces the camera’s 17.5 mm front adapter and lets you angle the sensor slightly, so it sits square to the light coming from your flattener or reducer.
A sensor that is even slightly tilted gives sharp stars in one corner and stretched stars in the opposite one, and the bigger the sensor, the more it shows. Four pull screws and eight push screws set the angle and then lock it, so it holds once adjusted. Thick foam inside the joint keeps light out.
It is 100 mm across and fits ATR cameras from version 4 onwards. If you aren’t sure which version you have, send us the serial number and we’ll check.
Fitting
Unscrew and remove the camera’s 17.5 mm front adapter. Screw the tilter’s base plate to the camera, fit the top plate, then set the tilt with the push and pull screws once you’ve seen where the stars stretch.
