ToupTek AFW-mini 5 × 1.25″ Filter Wheel

The ToupTek AFW-mini is a small electronic filter wheel with five positions for 1.25″ filters. At 20 mm thick and 340 g it suits planetary cameras, the AE676M and deep-sky cameras with small sensors, where a full-size wheel would be heavier than the camera.

Five slots take an LRGB set plus one narrowband filter, or RGB plus IR-pass and methane for planetary work. It comes with a 1.25″ nosepiece and an M48-to-M42 adapter, so it fits a 1.25″ focuser, a 2″ focuser or an M48 thread. A stepper motor with a tensioned drive turns it at six seconds per revolution, or twelve at the low speed, which gives more torque on cold nights.

Both sides have M42 × 0.75 threads, and the filter slots take standard 1.25″ filters with M28.5 × 0.6 threads. The wheel is 101 mm across and the body 129 mm tall. A thrust bearing and a ball bearing keep the carousel from tilting, and the housing is sealed against stray light so flats stay clean. It connects and powers through one USB cable.
