Overview
The Player One Active Cooling System (ACS) is a fan unit that fits to the back of Player One’s uncooled planetary and solar cameras. It draws heat out of the camera body, which lowers sensor noise in warm weather and on long solar sessions.
Player One’s tests show a camera with both its passive cooling system and the ACS running at about 7 °C above the air temperature. Without it, a camera in summer sun can get close to 60 °C.
Which cameras it fits
It works with cameras that already have Player One’s passive cooling system: Apollo-M, Apollo-C, Apollo-M MAX, Apollo-M Mini, Saturn-M SQR, Saturn-C SQR and Uranus-C. Ask us if your camera isn’t listed.
Fitting
Take out the screws on the back of the camera; you don’t need to remove the back panel. Lay the thermal pad on the back, then fix the ACS on top with the longer screws supplied. It runs from 12 V, and a power splitter cable is included.
